2030, Today

-

Panel discussion Conference area

Worldwide, the building sector consumes a quarter of all plastic, a quarter of all aluminium, half of all steel and almost all cement and much of this material becomes waste when buildings and structures are replaced. Looking ahead to 2030 and beyond, how do we move away from this extractive and disposable mindset? Given that waste does not occur in nature, what lessons can we learn from natural systems in reconsidering this material? What is happening today on the cutting edge of the regenerative economy?
