Why ndsm
A cultural breeding ground
The incredible NDSM Loods (or warehouse) has stood at the IJ waterfront for almost a hundred years. Formerly used as a warehouse for one of the world’s largest shipyards, today it is a cultural and artistic breeding ground for up to 80 small businesses at the heart of Amsterdam’s innovative and creative industries, including those driving the circular transition.
Accessible from Amsterdam Centraal station by a free 10 minute ferry and with plenty of space and accommodation on site, NDSM provides the perfect backdrop and ecosystem for WasteBuild to showcase circular solutions and innovators and to accelerate the transition towards a circular built environment.

2019 AT A GLANCE
Accelerate the transition to a circular built environment…
WasteBuild is the first and only international built environment event with the dedicated ambition to eliminate global waste.
Today, the construction process accounts for 50% of all materials used globally and for 36% of the waste created.
Increasing public awareness and an appetite to tackle waste in all forms is encouraging the adoption of robust circular economy roadmaps across all governments, with innovations in the built environment critical to every plan.
This movement away from the old linear ‘take, make, waste’ approach towards a circular economy is now more and more backed up by regulations and government targets across Europe and the World.
WasteBuild in Amsterdam is the only event dedicated to the international architecture, engineering and construction community and to specifically understanding the opportunities that the circular economy brings.
Learn, be inspired and do business at WasteBuild in 2021 and make sure your organisation is maximising the opportunities of the new circular built environment.
